Weiyi Wang

Research and Partnership Manager, Shanghai Representative Office

Weiyi Wang is the Research and Partnerships Manager at the Centre for Asian Philanthropy and Society’s Shanghai Representative Office, where she works on corporate-focused external partnerships in the Chinese Mainland and provides support for cross-sector initiatives, events, and research activities. 

She has over a decade of cross-sector experience spanning media, corporate, and nonprofit organizations in the Chinese Mainland.  

Weiyi began her career at Xinhua News Agency’s Shanghai Branch and Shanghai Securities News, where she worked as an editor and think-tank analyst. She later transitioned into the private sector, taking on roles in business development and brand marketing at a listed real estate company, where she helped develop cultural branding and community-focused projects.  

In addition, Weiyi previously worked at an education-focused NGO where she led communications and branding efforts to strengthen the organization’s visibility and fundraising capacity in China. She also spent time in Berlin working on partnership development with photographic artists. 

Weiyi holds both BA and MA in German literature and European folklore studies from the University of Würzburg in Germany.
