Dr. Annelotte Walsh is Director of Research at the Centre for Asian Philanthropy and Society (CAPS), where she leads the design and delivery of CAPS’ research agenda, providing strategic oversight and intellectual direction across the organization’s research portfolio, which examines the policy, institutional and ecosystem conditions shaping philanthropy and private social investment in Asia. She also leads the development of long-term research partnerships and the dissemination of findings through engagements with policymakers, practitioners and funders at regional and international forums.
With over 14 years of experience in policy research, data analysis, and management, Dr. Walsh has worked across academia, international non-governmental organizations (INGOs), and nonprofit sectors in Hong Kong, Australia, the Netherlands and Tanzania.
She previously served as an honorary lecturer at the Faculty of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Hong Kong, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in international relations, international organizations and foreign policy decision-making. Earlier in her career, she worked as Advocacy Manager at UNICEF Australia, advocating for more comprehensive child-friendly policies, practices and legislative frameworks.
Dr. Walsh holds a PhD in law from the University of Hong Kong, as well as an MA in international relations from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands and an MA in peace and conflict studies from the University of Sydney.
