Jewel Zhu

Research Associate, Greater China

Jewel Zhu is a Research Associate, Shanghai Representative Office at the Centre for Asian Philanthropy and Society (CAPS) where she is responsible for quantitative analysis and research execution, including database management, case sourcing and synthesis, and translating findings into practical insights for CAPS’ Greater China work. 

Jewel has over 12 years of experience working in the public sector in social service delivery, research, and advocacy across diverse fields, including refugee protection, youth development, medical social work, animal welfare, and climate and energy.  

Her expertise lies in creating meaningful impact by blending direct practice with strategic initiatives to address pressing social challenges, producing practice-informed research and bridging practice and policy to drive positive change in communities. 

 Jewel holds an LLB from China University of Political Science and Law and an MA in social work from the University of Chicago.
