Julianna Barcela

Communications Associate

Julianna Barcela is a Communications Associate at the Centre for Asian Philanthropy and Society (CAPS), where she supports the delivery of the organization’s communications strategy. 

Before joining CAPS, Julianna worked at Operation Santa Claus, the fundraising initiative co-founded by the South China Morning Post (SCMP) and RTHK, where she supported communications, events and administrative operations. She was also a journalist at the SCMP, reporting on culture and social issues in Hong Kong.  

Julianna holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a second major in politics & public administration from the University of Hong Kong, where she conducted research on international NGO relations for her capstone project.
